As from today sky+ are slashing the price of the sky hd box as a new branding push starts to encourage the hd recorder and the sky+ service, which we can foresee to be seeing a lot of across the future days and weeks

The original cost for a sky hd package was just about to £249 as long at it was purchased with a subscription for the sky hd service. However it has been dropping all the time for new customers and was £99 before yesterdays announcement. As from the 29 January 2009 this service is going to be named sky+ hd and from this date the cost of buying a brand-new package will be brought down to merely £49, which is a remarkable saving for new customers. However in order to qualify for the fresh lower costs, the customer will need to take out a sky+ hd subscription package which is presently £9.95 per calendar month.
