Local Information for Hooley

Hooley is a hamlet in the Surrey Borough of Reigate and Banstead and lies in a pass in the North Downs. A pass is a low crossing point in a mountain range and the pass in which Hooley is located is the only one for some way either side. The North Downs are a ridge of chalk hills that extend from Hampshire through Surrey and on to Kent for about 120 miles. They are part of the Wealdon dome and the South Downs are their mirror opposite. The North Downs (in particular the Surrey Hills and Kent Downs) have been designated two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

While you have your car travel a little away from Hooley and spend some time touring the local attractions among them Box Hill with its beautiful woodland and sections of the North Downs and walking trails that will take you to many areas of spectacular views and displays of flora and fauna. Or what about Morden Hall Park, a historic parkland featuring meadows and wetlands, local craft workshops (boasting pottery, wood carvings and artists among other things) and a gorgeous rose garden from May to September.
