Are you looking to enjoy the convenience of a credit card but have some blemishes on your credit? Then the Tuxedo Prepaid Card is for you. The Tuxedo Prepaid Card is a credit card you preload with money and then use like a regular credit or debit card. The card, which comes as either a MasterCard or Maestro card, is a good alternative for those whose credit is not good enough to qualify for a traditional credit card. The first step to having this card is to open an “eccount” with Tuxedo.
Customers must decide between the “pay as you go” and “monthly” tariff. The “pay as you go” option charges 2.95% per purchase and 1.5% for cash withdrawals in the UK with no monthly fees. The “monthly” fee charges a £4.99 fee with free purchases and a 50p fee for cash transactions in the UK. Either plan must pay £2.25 when getting cash abroad. The card initially costs £9.95 but you receive £5 if the first load is £50 or more.
After the account is opened, you can choose from five different top-up options: over 2000 High Street Bank Branches, over 17,500 PayPoint locations, direct deposit, bank transfer, or online via credit or debit card. You can even give cards to family and friends to spend. As you use the card, the amount that was loaded decreases and you must top-up the card again.
