Local Information for Edenbridge

Edenbridge lies on the banks of the River Eden on the Kent/Surrey border. It is situated in the Sevenoaks district of Kent.

The village was originally a crossing point over the river that was used by the Romans to transport wood and iron from Ashdown Forest to London. Local Information for Charlton

Charlton is in the London Borough of Greenwich and is thought to get its name from the Saxon for husbandman or farmer. While you have your car, there are a few must-see places in Charlton. Charlton House was built for Sir Adam Newtown, who was the tutor for the young Prince Henry, son of James I and older brother to the future King Charles I. Drummond died at Charlton after five days and Daniel M’Naghten, who was tried for his murder was found guilty due to insanity – giving rise to the M’Naughten rules the legal test of insanity used in many common law jurisdictions.
