Tesco Lowers Fuel Prices for the Public

Tesco, a supermarket giant, has given in to the pressure of the public by lowering their price of fuel.  They have promised that the prices at their outlets in Inverness will now be the same as the prices in Elgin, which is only 40 miles away and usually has lower prices.  The public and politicians highlighted that the pricing system has been unfair where diesel and unleaded petrol at the company’s stores in Inverness have been as much as 3 pence per litre higher than the Elgin outlet of the company.  During last week in Inverness, the unleaded petrol from Tesco was 119 pence per litre, and then on Saturday, the price dropped by 2 pence to match the prices in Elgin.  Diesel in both places was at 131.9 pence a litre on 20 July.
