Lonely Planet and Nokia Team Up

Lonely Planet and Nokia have teamed up in order to bing travel guides to the mobile phones of Nokia.  The mobile phones users that have the support for the Maps 2.0 application, which is free, will have the ability to purchase and download travel guides from Lonely Planet directly onto their mobiles.  Every guide is priced at 13.99 dollars, which is just a little cheaper than the same version in paper, of which sells for about 18 dollars each.

HSBC May Choose iPhones and Ditch BlackBerrys

HSBC, a global banking giant, is considering adopting the iPhone from Apple as their standard mobile device for staff members to use, ditching the BlackBerry, which is a move that may cause an order for about 200,000 iPhones.  Brenton Hush, the Chief Information Officer in New Zealand and Australia for HSBC, said that they are actually looking at the iPhone from a group perspective, which means globally.  The company has about 300,000 employees internationally, and a decision to switch the technology they use in their corporate networks will likely lead to them having one of the biggest iPhone orders in the world.
