A record amount was raised yesterday at the annual summer garden party for the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Childre in Elstree with around 200 attendees. The event was held at Schopwick Place, in Elstree’s high street raising £1,400 for the protection of child cruelty thanks to NSPCC.

In spite of the sky being cloudy, the yearly summer garden party raised a record amount of money for the NSPCC. At the village fete, about 200 people relished the event held at Schopwick Place, raising for the charity 1,400 pounds, which aims at protecting children from cruelty. Sandra Parnell, the mayor of Hertsmere, was joined with Farida Turner, the mayor of Borehamwood and Elstree, as well as their deputy, Pat Strack, in order to begin the Sunday proceedings.
